They said I looked pretty when I stayed quiet<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But I don’t think I was ever made to crawl<\/p>\n\n\n\n

They warned me about speaking to loud<\/p>\n\n\n\n

That the good girl never stand out in the crowd<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I refuse to accept that my voice was made to hide<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Because I have carried storms and suns inside<\/p>\n\n\n\n

They pointed at my clothes, thy blamed my skin<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As if they wanted to prove I was the reason for someone’s sin<\/p>\n\n\n\n

They looked at my pain and called it my fate<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But all I was ever taught was to wait<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Wait for the respect, wait to be heard<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Wait to be believed, to be trusted on my word<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But now I am tired of waiting, tired of the fear<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This is my life and I am here<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Not to follow your rules, not for your pride<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Not to be silent nor to stand aside<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I was not born to break or bend<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I was born to fight, to rise and to mend<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So if u fear a girl who won’t obey<\/p>\n\n\n\n
